Dr. Salah Abusnana, Medical Director at Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research, is a Medical Degree graduate from Libya. It was followed by 3 years residency program in Internal Medicine from Salahuddin University Hospital, Tripoli. Since 1994, he was working in The United Kingdom where he got MRCP in 1995, and continued clinical training in internal medicine.
Since 1995 onwards he has been actively involved in research programs related to obesity and its complications. He was awarded with MSc. in Neuroendocrinology in 1996 at Imperial College, University of London, post which he continued his clinical and academic work at Hammersmith Hospital, granted Ph.D. degree by year 2001.
From 2001, he was worked in the field of diabetes and endocrinology, in London University Hospitals, Guys and St Thomas Hospital, Brighton University hospital. Combining research and clinical practice with medical teaching, working at the medical school at the Department of Medicine, Brighton and Sussex University, he also has been supervising other researchers and PhD’s.
At present, he is also continuing academic activities as Associate Professor in the University of Sharjah – UAE.
Dr Salah is awarded with CCST (UK) in Diabetes and Endocrinology. He is member of British Endocrine Society, Diabetes UK, European Society of Diabetes, and American Diabetes Association.
